*** DELETED *** with you? The only one spewing this garbage is you, and the ones that are responding are just ****ing with you because you won't stop.
I am not sure what kind of complex you have, but attempting to REPEATEDLY bash guys with baggers and larger engines on this site is just pathetic.
Post pictures of your machine, talk about it, and join in! Stop making threads to start ****, and defend your *** DELETED ***

I'd call that a direct hit .

Some riders on this site seem like asses to me. I'm 73 and have been ridding for over 30 years. I've had as many as 3 harleys at the same time, All were over 850 lbs. I now have bad knees and have had them replaced, but ever once and a while. my knee will go out without warning. I was afraid I would drop my bike if that happened. I sold all of them but after a couple of years, I really missed riding. I bought a 48 sportster, only about 550 lbs. After riding large bikes for over 30 years, I never thought I would ride a sportster but I really like it. It doesn't ride quite as smooth but I'm able to ride it without fear of my knee going out and dropping it. If my knee goes out, I can straight arm it and keep it up AND I'm still riding! Why does someone think their bike is better than someone else? I hope everyone is young and is strong and great shape, but it won't always be like that. I'm just as proud and happy to be on my 48 as I was on my bigger harleys. You should be happy that you have a bike and are able to ride it. I am and I also wear pink shirts.
The common mindset is for owners of large displacement bikes to look down on guys who ride 883/1200's as weak or not real men when in reality it's just macho BS that amounts to simply HOT AIR. I could ride whatever I want..but I prefer the Sportster 1200/88 because it's more agile, quicker off the line...more fun.
Good luck there Sportster Boy, have fun in your mind that you are the best and that your imaginary motorcycle has girls looking at you.

I'm interested to know what to other owners is the appeal of the HD Sportster? To me it's the basicness (?) of the motorcycle. I don't get the bigger is better Land Barge or huge heavy 1600 ''big boy bikes'??? IMO the 883/1200 is plenty of bike for just about everyone.
1.size
2.cost
3.maintainace
4.looks
5.tubeless tires
6. Already had bags, shield, engine guard, seat, backrest, luggage rack stage one and grips
It was a no brainier. And I ride all day long with full size tourers

I don't know, maybe Mark Winchester should consider a Honda Rebel since he likes small, nimble bikes so much. I've heard if you swap the sprockets they'll actually do 75 MPH.

While I am here.....
I would like to add my 2 cents to the O.P.
I ride a bagger for several reasons....
1. I travel a LOT. So the saddle bags and trunk are important.
2. When home, I ride daily averaging 6 stops. So the trunk is GREAT!!!!
3. The comfortable ride, especially on the highway.
4. The radio and speakers (the stock one now) is REALLY MUCH BETTER than the older ones.
And that is abt it.
My favorite is the Heritage Special, but still, I will the baggers smooth comfort on the highway.
Likely a few other things too but that is all that comes to mind at the moment.![Icon Shrug](https://www.hdforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_shrug.gif)
