2019 Sportster Stripdown
Hey, I recently bought a sportster that was left without love for a few years near the sea after few weeks managed to convince him to sell it to me.
Its a 2019 sportster 883 with only around 8k km.
Day1 - Picked up the bike, arrived home (it was quite a nightmware to lift it up and put it on a trailer since both wheels were seized) and tried starting the engine, checked that it is not seized and started the engine. Noticed that throttle was jammed so spent the day ramoving the air cleaner, opening and closing the throttle body wheel and opened the leaver screws and putting in lots of wd40 to loosen it up. Also sprayed rustoff on all bolts with the hope of loosing a few of them.
Day 2 - Removed calipers so that I can move the bike around and give it a good clean with degreaser and powerwash

It looks as though he's tried to upload some photos but they cannot be viewed on the forum, they are possibly in a format that is not valid for uploading. If he can change the format of the photos to an accepted format we could then view them.

Not knowing your background, this video series on youtube might be helpful during your project.
They have put up 8 episodes so far, a new one every Saturday morning.
I don't have a Sportster but just enjoy watching them.

Signed on. Keep in mind a lot of fasteners on a new Harley have a form of dry coating on the bolts. Almost like a glue. It melts when they get tight.
Does the same job a loctite but faster in assembly lines.
Most penetrants like WD40 ,Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster .. etc, do not work.
Takes a little heat. With out heat, some of the small ones will actually break. The larger ones with an impact will come out but the torix head is trashed.
