Sportster is a 'girls' bike?
#11
I personally love the Sportster, (especially the 48) and almost bought one a few times before I got my Crossbones. I consider the Sportster Evo engine the best engine Harley ever built. There will always be idiots who have to trash others choice in bike, and I think that is mostly where the 'girls bike' idea came from.
Some of you are old enough to remember the TV show, Then Came Bronson. So do some idiots think he was riding a girls bike?

Might mean something to me.

I personally don't care what anybody thinks of the bike I ride, but I have great respect for the Sportster, so when a few morons started disrespecting the bike when it's 'demise' was being discussed, I care enough to set them straight, and anyone else reading that thread. When you think about the decades of work that went into making the Sportster what is is, and it's impressive history of winning races, and making riders happy, (male and female) the bike has earned respect. I care when people called it a girls bike, implied that something must be wrong with it (for it to be discontinued) and had a 'so what, who cares' response to the news of Sportsters no longer being made.
Normally I don't even respond to morons, but the thread was about Harley discontinuing the Sportster so I took it as an iconic event. I guess I'm a bit of an idealist....
