RE: black primary cover / gearcase cover
That looks really good! polish the edges of your fins silver that would complete the engine IMO
I've been, in my spare time, taking off random parts of my bike and repaiting them flat black. the dash and speedo cover, and handlebar clamp. next im doing the button consoles on each side of the handlebars and the brake lever. Basically getting parts on my bike to look new, the old black is faded and flaking.

Nice job.I did my whole top end plus covers and a few other things a couple of years ago.Need to redo it agian soon.High temp paint isn't nessecary on the coversbut it adds some exta insurance. The best part is no polishing, just hose it off and dry. Again, great job!!

RE: black primary cover / gearcase cover
next i am going for some highway pegs and mirrors its at the pricey stuff now
got both of those on the xmas wish list though
the next thing that i will probably get myself will be that black scoop on the front from HD but that is pricey to
i have a bunch more little chrome covers to get to
anyone with an 08 out there know when they are coming out with the front axl covers? the 07 ones dont fit
anyone have an opinion about the black / chrome 5 spoke wheel on a Nightster? i love my wheels but they are a pain in the *** to clean? i was looking at the $400 dollar one from harley cant decide though if that is on the todo list eventually

RE: black primary cover / gearcase cover
I would definately keep the spokes.I think spoked wheels or a least a spoked wheel in the front looks better than any wheel out there. They're classic.Have you considerd painting the spokes?I just did mine a few weeks ago.I have a chrome rim(you can kind of see it in my last post)but I think it might look pretty cool with a black one too.I really don't think it would be too much black. It's was pretty tedious doing mine but, only took about a day and then overnight to cure. Then, like I said before you can just hose 'em and wipe 'em. I also think your rocker boxes would look good in black/polished/black.
