Definately try them on. Many brands fit differently. I bought and sold three helmuts before I found the right one.

I like the Fulmer helmets a lot for the fit and the way they look. They have a few models in your price range.

You can find them on-line for the description, colors and pricing, but they only sell them in person at motorcycle shops. I got one at a Honda shop and one at a Big Dog dealer.

agreed try on helmets before you buy one.
In a full face I like a Scorpion exo 700 its Kevlar reinforced perfect venting. all the features of a $500 helmet less than 200. if you are not particular about the graphics you can get a 07 model for around 100. nice with removable liner, plus only two shell sizes you just change the liner to change sizes l-xxxl or xxs-m. both dot and Snell approved. I think Snell approved is important.
if you are particular about colors and what not, look at a HJC CL-15 you can get one delivered for 85 bucks online. there are a few dealers who still have CL-14s left for around 60.
In a half helmet I have a Harley helmet think it is made by HJC. I also have a little blue jafrum helmet but I dont think it is really dot approved.

Currently, I have an HJC 1/2 that I wear unless it is unGODLY cold, or raining cats n dogs. In THOSE cases, I have a HD full face, that I got off of the bargain rack.

Chin bar is way to close, and the shield fogs up at any temp below 50. To do it over again, I would NOT have bought it, but time was of the essence, as we were leaving on a road trip the next morning.

I had a fulmer full face when I rode Sport bikes, and loved it. You get what you pay forwhen it comes to helmets. If you have a 30 dollar head, put a 30 dollar helmet on it.

- have an OGK FF4 full-face helmet.

- the vents really work.

- wouldn't ride a bicycle without a helmet.

ORIGINAL: Ljason74

I have been lookin for a helmet online and there are so many places that carry these things with so many options. It is just overwhelming. I was just wondering what kind oflid skidseveryone else uses if any. Im lookin for something full face, lightweight, and not to hot during the summer. Right now i ride without but sometimes it would be nice to have one. Also not lookin to spend more than 100 dollars. So if anyone has any suggestions on what brand and style it would be helpful. THANKS

One Bieffe. It sucked.
I can't remember the brand of my first half helmet.
I used to wear Shoei. Good finish, had to be broken in. Owned 3 total, 2 full, 1 half.
I now have a HD half. It has light blue flames on it. No neck curtian is my only complaint.
My wife uses a HD half with red "tribal" design on it.

Helmets are worn by choice in NH.

I am currently wearing a HJC CL-SP and it's the best helmet I have ever owned. I have used Arai, Shoei, AGV, Beiffe and Bell since I started riding. When looking to replace an older Shoei I was shocked at current prices. I read some reviews of HJC and liked what I heard. I ended up trying on the CL-SP at a local Honda dealer and was sold on the spot. It fits my head better then any helmet I have ever worn, has great vents and is very well made.
