Default sundowner seat

Does anyone have the sundowner seat on an Xl 883. I just bought the bike and was wondering if the sundowner brings you back, forward, up, down etc; or if there isn't really much difference. I take it it is more comfortable than the stock seat. It's a 08 Xl 883. Thanks for any help.

I have one on my 08 xl 883 and it might bring you up a little, but not forward or back.

I bought one for my 883R but I only use it when I'm carrying a passenger. When I ride solo I find the standard seat just as comfortuble, if not more so. I find with the sundowner I seem to be sliding forward all the time, I have to keep pushing myself back in the seat as I'm riding. I also think that it looks too large behind the stock peanut tank, doen't look as bad behind a custom tank.

running back,

I never really rode with the stock seat as I had mine installed on the showroom. With the plushness of it, I am sure it is more comfortable. They put one on for a Custom and I have pics of that, but they had to get the right one for my bike that fits closer to the tank so I don't have any new pics yet. Weather is so shitty here right now I haven't got to take any new ones.

The Sundownder will set you about an inch higher. At first, maybe slightly more forward, but that's just until your get the seat broke in.

I rode 9,000 miles on the stock seat. That was a Pain in the ***. I've had the Sundowner for over 21,000 miles now. Very comfortable. I can do 12 hours a day seat time with the Sundowner.

I just got one for my 883c and I love it. It did make me sit up a bit higher, but I pulled the windshield up and the sensation of sitting higher went away.

This seat is one of the best things I've purchased for the bike.

I would use the "search" function and find the other 1000 posts about this....someone had to say it.

joel, if the search function actually worked he probably would have. Last I checked it was broken. There are GREAT people in these forums, but the backend or something SUCKS. This place is slow as smoke off **** when you post something or try to read one
