If ya leave it alone it gives you more money to spend on beer. Once you start though it's hard to stop, and when your done you want something else.

To me, customizing is a big part of owning a harley. Its awful hard and expensive to customize those metrics....not that I would consider getting one otherwise! Like thumper said....I see it as a blank canvas upon which to express myself.

For some reason it means more to me to have my bike look different from othersthen it means to me to have my car different. I've always kinda strayed away from whatthe mainstream does anyways.

Plus, look at it this way. If EVERYONE else customizes their bike, then that means you too are unique right?

........wait....and spent less $.......*sigh*....I'm gonna go buy a part to make me feel better now.

When I got my sporty I had no intentions on doing anything but riding. However, the modding started in the first week with no warning. Just be careful...it can bite you when you least expect.

I agree. Customizing your bike is like picking out your bike in the first place. It has to Fit YOU and only YOU.

Enjoy it fixed up anyway you want, just Enjoy it!

I knew going into it that I couldn't have a stock Nightster. I am the type who must have something different from all the others. What you do to your bike speaks volumes as to who you are, like a window to your soul.
We are all different and that's the beauty of it, the world would be a boring place if it were any other way.
Ride on, brothers and sisters.

I bought mine knowing I wanted it to look like it does now. The vivid black nightster was a great starting point for me.

I also understand people who keep the bike stock. To each there own.

A bike is like a blank canvas to a new owner, whether it's new or used. Part of the experience in motorcycling for many is making the bike your own. Some like pain vanilla, others like tutti-fruiti, and there are a whole bunch of other flavors in between. If you're content with your bike, regardless of what you've done to it - or not, that's all that matters...
When you think about it - what other manufacturer puts out a "blank canvas"? Or has a whole industry dedicated to "painting"? I don't care what anybody says, that's impressive.

Man ain't that the truth. First it was some pipes. Then the seat. Then the grips, well then I HAD to have new pegs. Then that laid-back license plate holder looked cool. Then.....
