Default Rinehart slip ons or V&H........

A little help here please.&nbsp\\; 2007 custom
&nbsp\\;
I was going to go with the Rinehart slip ons.&nbsp\\; I am looking for a better sound than the stock pipes.&nbsp\\; After searching and reading several threads, a stage 1 is "apparently" &nbsp\\;not necessary.&nbsp\\; I will be staying with the stock a/c. Cost, including shipping $407.00.
&nbsp\\;
OR:
&nbsp\\;
V&amp\\;H shortshots, PCIII, K&amp\\;N a/c.&nbsp\\; Cost around $714.00
&nbsp\\;
I would like to go with the Rinehart slip ons for now, but I am concerned with fuel/air mix, heat, etc.&nbsp\\; At the squealership I was told that you should "probably" go with the stage 1.&nbsp\\; Not suprising.
&nbsp\\;
I can monitor the cyl head temps with the stock and then compare them to the Rinehart when I install them.
&nbsp\\;
I read a thread from Shovelhead Bob, a HD Tech, who said with the Rinehart slip ons and stock a/c, the system will adjust and a stage 1 is not necessary.
&nbsp\\;
Opinions please. &nbsp\\;

if your not increasing air intake with new filter system you won't be affecting your air/fuel ratio!!
but hopefully you'll still notice an improvemt with the slipon's.. i definetely recommend the rinehart' slipon's!!!!!!!!!!! they will be a bit pricey... bought mine at american classic motor's through ebay for 315.00 with shipping included.. guarantee you won't regret the choice. they really sound that good and are quality made.... what sold me was a guy at work had them on his 2005 883 sportster and sounded great.. So just imagine the sound on your 1200custom!!!!
email me your thoughts after you get your pipes on... want to hear your thoughts..
good luck
ps-here is their number if you want to call an order monday 610-754-8500, ext 11

I went with the V&amp\\;H slip-ons, sounded great but didn't really notice any performance increases. A few months later I had the SE A/C and SE Super tuner installed and the bike seems to really jump when you hit thr throttle. I'm extremely happy with it.

I am going with the slip ons right now.&nbsp\\; Possibly do a stage 1 next year.&nbsp\\; Keeping the stock air cleaner on and no fuel pak or PCIII.
&nbsp\\;
The Rinehart slip ons do sound good though.

I went with the V&amp\\;H Slipons. Whatever you decide on, I would stay away from American Classic Motors. I know alot of people that have had an extremely bad experience with them. I got mine from Eastern Performance. Excellent service, fast shipping. The V&amp\\;H cost me about $250.

I went with Rush slipons with 2.25" baffles. LOVE the sound and get lots of complimens. I too was concerned about not doing anything else (new air cleaner, remap, dyno, etc). Of course the dealer tells me I should, but everyone here pretty much convinced me I shouldn't worry too much. If my understanding is correct, if you do a new air cleaner then you probabyl SHOULD do at least a remap.&nbsp\\; I have not noticed any decrease in performance. At least for me and the way I ride, everything is running (and sounding) just fine
