Looking for a solo seat for my bike. Curious as to what years will be able to fit it. Looking for mainly a stock solo seat (such as http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...Q5fAccessories) but don't know which years will fit without a hitch.

 

That link you have will not fit an '02. You need something from '03 and prior to like '96.

Having an extremely hard time finding any stock solo seats from anything earlier than 04. What are the differences that prevent the newer ones from fitting my 02?

 

Dont hold me to this but i think its the size of the fuel tank..

 

They changed the bike in '04. The tank mount and the way the front of the seat mount was changed so nothing after '03 will fit your scoot. anything from '96 till '03 should fit just fine. Give e-bay or craigslist a try.

 

Guess I'll have to wait it out. How is the stock seat from 96 to 03 anyway, is it the same kind as the newer ones? I like their look.

 

What makes you guys say '96 as the earlier limit? How bout a '95?

 

I think it's 86 to 03. Check Corbin website for sure. I think all the EVO sporty seats are the same but the difference is the old sportys had smaller has tanks so the front was longer...

Most people just think of the rubber mount engine being the change in 04, but there were lots of changes to the Sporty in 04. Even the frame is different. Very few parts, including the seat, from prior years will fit 04 and newer.

For others that are reading this: The seats all changed again in 07 to accomodate the additional electronic equipment necessary to run the EFI.
