Vibrating Gas Cap

Vibrating Gas Cap
As weird as it may sound, since I've had the bike, when I'm riding it its always sounded like its about to fall apart. It sounded like there was a nut with a washer and the nut wasn't completely tight and the washer would vibrate around.
Coming home the other day while riding I decided to tightening my gas cap one click while I was moving along and when I put my hand on it I was shocked that all of that noise has been coming from my gasp cap this whole time. And it's a lot of noise lol.
Any way I could dampen this? Do they have rubber inserts or something that could be placed around the opening by the threads?

is the cap loose in the tank or the shiny tin cover on top loose? If it's just the cover, either ignore it of wrap with a shop towel and give it a squeeze with a big pair of channel lock plyers in 4 places. ( like a pluse sign ) Not too hard though. That should help tighten it up, just not for too long.

Why not lose the vibrating twist in cap and go pop up?

i dealed with this problem 4 times already
the very top part of the cap is chrome, but its just a cover, its actually crimped around the bottom edge and over time vibration works it loose.
the noise is the thin cap cover vibrating over the body of the cap itself. but its actually really tight in the tank, you can try to crimp it back yourself, but your better off with a new one and yes it will do the same thing over time unless you somehow seal it with silicone from the inside, but then it might not vent anymore
