Default what does your nightster pull on the dyno?

hey all you nightster/ sporty fans out there. Just wondering how much horsepower and torque your bikes run and what mods you have. i have installed a heavy breather from H.D. and a powerpak with Vance and Hines Shortys. i pulled 86 h.p. and 86 ft. lbs. im thinking about a cam debating between a couple different options. well cant wait to see your numbers.

If you have done nothing more than add pipes, a breather and possibly a new map I would be extremely suspect of the data coming from that dyno run. The 1200 stage 1 Sportster will generally come in around 76 to 78 on the horsepower side and 78 to 80 on the torque side. Add cams and some head work for numbers that will be roughly what you came up with depending on how far you went.

That's why i posted the thread, honestly i was a bit suspicious of the numbers... but this is the weird part, they gave me the dyno sheet showing the numbers after i watched them dyno my bike (i needed to hear it run for therapy reasons, its 22 degrees where i live right now and wont be able to ride for another month) but anyway. they put 75 miles on while on the dyno and the last run they gave me the print out. ill try to post it somehow get it on here anyway. on all the threads posted on here most people get high 70's on horsepower.

Dynos will all be different. That seems kinda high for what most of these bikes run. But no two dyno readings will ever be the same. When I get mine dynoed, I'm just gonna be looking to get the air/fuel ratio straight as possible so it runs at its best. Not looking for peak numbers...

If you're running the bike on a DJ unit you are quite right and it has a lot to due with the tech running the machine too. If you are running the bike on a Factory Pro unit the numbers will be very close each time it is run providing the conditions are the same. I have had DJ units with wide swings in the print out while the test conditions were very similar and in no way should they have altered the data to the point they did. You will also get a true horsepower reading from the Factory Pro whereas the DJ unit does not have the ability to adjust for the parasitic loss.

08 nightster, power commander, V&H short shots, Screaming Eagle stage 1.

Never had a base line the dyno was started with the map off PC site. So from that map to a custom map it went...

Max Power = 68.01 Max Torque = 68.29
Max Power = 70.15 Max Torque = 71.29

67.3 deg F, 25.29 in-Hg, humidity 25% SAE:1.18

now my understanding is that the SAE means that it was calibrated to as if it was at sea level. If its STD it is reading what it is at your location. could be wrong...

Personally I think a stock or modified Nightster will pull the same as any stock or Modified Sportster.

Motorcyclist magazine tested the 1200R model on a Superflow dyno and came back with a box stock 67.4rwhp and 72.2 on the torque side.
