Default All at once or Piece by Piece?

I have fought it for as long as I can. I have to start making some changes on the bike. I was curious though on how everyone did theirs. Did you go out and get a bunch of stuff at once or did you do it piece by piece?

You must have a lot of disposable money, piece by piece for me.

It's just like going to Vegas. The trick is to lose your money as slowly as possible. Besides, half the fun is looking for new pieces.

I have been adding pieces since 2003,when I got the bike new.So far I have added roughly 100 or more things. It never seems to end.But that's the fun part. You look for different things and add pieces here and there.I'm not sure of the cost, but it has got to be $3000 or more. And that is mostly Ebay and discount places. If I got all my add ons new from Harley it would be $8000 or more,I would guess

ps,
I do have all my mods written down.Someday I will have to price them all out and see what the numbers are.

Just remember you're dealing with a system; make sure you understand everything
that needs to be done if you decide to change something. I'm a new rider,
but I raced sports cars for 15 years and when you get into mechanical stuff,
it's pretty rare when you can change just one thing without that affecting
something else, usually for the worse.

If you change the intake you're probably going to have to change the exhaust,
carb or injection settings and possibly the timing as well. And those bits have
to be compatible with each other, not just "cool stuff" bought off Craig's List
or Evilbay.

If I'm telling you what you already know, I apologize, but some stuff just can not
be done bit by bit.

If you're talking performance mods, all at once.

I bought new Intake, Exhaust, forwards, and a Power Commander.
I spread the purchases out over a month or two, but held onto everything and did it all at once.
In fact, I just installed everything yesterday.
The default ECM can only deal with so many changes.
So I waited until I had intake and exhaust to do at the same time. Then I remapped it.

I agree with everyone. I did mine pcs by pcs however i allso believe what user is saying.

there are some mods you do all at once if you got the cash.

For instance my pipes, ac and tuner i did all at once almost need to

I want apes but will wait till i can afford to do all chrome controls braided lines etc all at the same time. But that doesn't mean you have to buy them all at once. like when i did my pipes i bought the Ac then i got the pipes then i got the power commander and then i installed them once i had all parts
