Default peg question

i just bought some new pegs for my sporty and they are not as snug as the stock ones. are they supposed to be that way or is there a shim or something i should be putting in there. the stock ones had a shim in with it but it wont fit with the new ones.

If your talking about the black metal pcs that was in there on the old ones kind of looks like a U shape with a bow in it and hole thru the center. That is what keeps the tension on the peg and it will fit it can be a pain in the **** to get back in but it will go. You have to start the peg and the shim at the same time and work them both in. or hold the shim in and work the peg in.

Like Skully said, it will be a PIA, but it will fit. Work it in there.

changed my pegs and had the same problem even with shims in. my fix was to buy a regular bolt (with washers and a nut on the end instead of the clamps). tightened it down and now they dont fall down any more.
pretty sure that i just picked up the bolt from the harley dealer cause i was there buying other stuff anyway.
