Default 04+ Sporster Rear Pulley and Belt

Hey guys,

I've search here on the forum, but can't find what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for some information on the rear sprockets and drive belts for the 04+ Sportsters.

I believe the 04+ use a 68 tooth rear sprocket, either part number 40350-04 68T Black or 40352-04 68T Silver, is this correct? Does it change somewhere around 07?

Also what width belt is used on the 04+ sportsters? Part numbers?

Thanks!

Not sure on the belt part number, but the width is 1" with a 14mm pitch (distance between the teeth, on center), HTD tooth profile, and I'm pretty sure it's a 136 tooth. You can pick them up at any power transmission shop (power transmission meaning the transmission of power via belt, not power transmissions that are in cars).

You know what...I actually have a stock belt from my 07 Sporty. Not sure on the mileage as I bought it used, but it looks like it's in good shape (part number and Harley shield are clearly visible). Let me know if you're interested...I wouldn't want much for it.

Hey Charles,

Thanks for the help and offer of the belt, but I don't need the belt. When I got home I went out and measured my wife's 04 Sportster belt, it's 1-1/8"

Are the 07+ Sportsters running 1" belts? And what size in the rear pulley 68 tooth?
Thanks,
Jim
