I guess I don't need to tell you my opinion of a Sporty.....Just remember that the ride of choice for 1%ers back in the 60's was a Sporty!!!!

If you don't believe me, just get a DVD named "Hells Angels on Wheels" and see for yourself!!!! Amen....!

I don't know... is it the Sportster not getting respect or the rider? I've owned nothing but Harleys for 40+ years... And in between the ElectraGlides, SuperGlides and Softails, I've owned three Sportsters (my first Harley was a Sportster) and can't say I have ever really experienced what your talking about.

I will admit though... many Indy shops hate the Sportster when it comes to doing some major work on them... That too makes no difference to me as I have always worked on my own stuff...

I find that most people who start threads like this suffer from buyers remorse and get real defensive on the subject...

I ride a Sportster and a CrossBones at present and over the last year (looking at the mileage) I've put 8100 miles on the bones and 8500 on the Sportster... Go figure...

I always get compliments on My Sportster, and really don't care much about what others think. It's sort of like the town loser wearing that tattered H-D T-shirt talking trash about Jap bikes and You ask Him what He rides and it's usally a barstool !....WVleo

No, I really do not have buyers remorse and no I to not take offense to sportsters so I am not defensive. To be honest, I am not sure what that prior post even means, kinda weird statement.

There just jealous, besides how many BT's have you seen on the Springfield mile

Heck I've even seen a Sporty on a motorcross course !!

Jumping vehicle's

Just give them a history lesson starting from 50's

Gotta remember, even tho your throwing your leg over a new Sportster underneath she's already a classic !!

i think what it comes down to is this:

as long as you are cruising on 2 wheels with the wind in your face I dont give a fuct what you are riding. this says alot about person right there. There are a lot of Nancy boys out there that either dont have the ***** to ride or their old ladys won't let them. That is the pussification of America.
