Has anyone filled scratches before painting chrome?, I have some minor scratches on my SEII's and would like to fill them in before painting, I was thinking something like JB weld but not sure if it will stick to the chrome.

Don't fill them just sand them down smooth!

So far the only thing I've done to the shields is to sand down the cross over shield with 150 grit and use 99 cent spray paint as a test. The other one's I just cleaned them up and sprayed them. So far so good.

i went with the powder coat option. the bugs up here are nasty in the summer and i would imagine if painted them it would chip off when when cleaning them. my AC cover is painted black and i had to paint it twice this summer

I second mreed-- looks awesome! Can you post up a pic of the whole bike as it looks now?
