my 03 sportste has the bracket for the speedometer and tach that sticks out from the handle bars and sits up....ive been haveign problems with this bracket braking so i was wondering if i can change to just the speedometer bracket that sits in the downward postion and sits above the tanks....any info will help thanks....

 

your corners are breaking off ?
need to torque better.
do the rear first then front but even not all at once

 

It sounds to me that you want to know if you can change out the dual gauge bracket that you already have and put on the single gauge bracket that goes on a Sportster Custom. Yes, you can do it, but you may have to change out the handlebar mounts to be able to use the Sportster Custom bracket. I went the other way. I have a 2007 XL1200L Low and I changed out the single gauge bracket and I put on a dual gauge bracket but I had to change out the handlebar mount to be able to put the dual gauge bracket on. Don�t forget, with enough money you can do pretty much anything you want to. Good luck with your installation and ride safe!

 

im gonna call harley tommmorw and see if they will warrenty cause i went to a different harley when it broke and they said it was suppose to have rubber bushings around it and it doesnt...so hopefully they will replace it for free since they did the installation wrong...thanks for yalls help

 

The mount you are talking about ( custom )is also made with a tach mount too. Good luck with the dealer.
