Unhappy Fuel Petcock Valve Leak 2004 XL

I filled the gas tank today and when I got home, I turned the petcock off and noticed that a small leak started to develop form the bottom part of the valve. I haven't closed it in over 2 years. When I turn it on it stops leaking. Any suggestions??? Any body knows the part number of the fuel valve?

Just get a new valve.I did away with the vacuum operated one and got a Pingel.Cap it off at the t connector where the vacuum hose plugged in.By habit,I've always turned the valve off when the bike is off.

The part number for the stock valve is 62169-02a and the retaining nut is 62161-02. I think both parts were less than $30 when I bough them this spring
