Hey there! I have a 1997 fxdl I bought used about 6 months ago. Just this week it started leaking fuel constantly out of the fuel overflow valve as well as from the hose that connects the two heads. This continues even with the petcock in the off position. It seems to run fine but I haven't ridden it in the past few days since this started. Any help is appreciated! TIA
You have not done anything to the bike or fuel system but fill it up, right?
My son's LR overflows through the atmosphere vent when he overfills since I put on a new tank. I think I might have reversed the vapor valve when I put it all back together or his new gas cap is not vented...not sure which yet, he just told me about it...

Its a carbed bike...you sure it doesnt eventually stop when you close petcock? Make sure its really closed...start the bike and run it out of fuel..then drop the fuel bowl on the carb. bet you have stuff in there clogging things up, and your floats are either stuck or bad (filled with fuel)...which would keep them from closing the valve.
Sorry, not the hose. The fuel intake coming from the carburetor. I'm currently trying to clean the inside of the gas tank as i discovered a bunch of rust in there. I'm also waiting on a rebuild kit for the carb. And I'll be replacing the gaskets where the fuel enters the heads. Hoping all that fixes the problem.
that sounds like something is mucked up in the float. My 2001 SG CV-40 vents fuel to the intake and not overboard like a CV 44. I had the float stick once and damn near hydraulic-lock my cylinder. I caught it when it stalled on the initial crank over and pulled the plugs and blew a lot of gas out. Damn lucky I didn't blow a head gasket or damage the heads. Since then, I replaced the valve, inspected and adjusted the float...and now turn off the petcock.

Sounds to me like the needle&carat is leaking in the carb and the petcock may be bad too

Fuel enters the head? The air/fuel enters through the intake manifold to the heads. If fuel is leaking at the manifold, you have an intake leak too. I don't see how it can run good with all that happening. Are you explaining your problem correctly? 3 things with the fuel all at once, doesn't compute.
