If you are asking how to remove the header pipes then all you have to do is remove the studs. You should be able to see them. If you can't then take your heat shields off and you should see them. It's pretty straightforward. I would apply some penetrating lube before I took them out, the studs that is.
Wouldn't think this would be a topic all itself, but would anyone mind posting a picture of the black heat wrap that has faded? I just want to get an idea of what it will look like. Thanks!

Reason: .
That's exactly what I wanna do, gotta start saving those pennies!!!! I wish they weren't so expensive.
What's the deal with the wrap and bad weather? Rain and dirty roads etc, I presume once they get dirty they're hard to clean...?
i haven't heard of anyone cleaning the wrap. they are suppose to get dirtier over time, i think it gives it character. if you want to keep them black then you can spray paint them before installing. but imo, if you want to do this you might as well just keep the original black heat shield on. i'm actually going to sell my sideshots down the road after i make some more mods on the bike. if anyone from socal is interested. not anytime soon, a bit down the road. i'll post when i do sell it. i've sold few parts to members and they can tell u that i sell for cheap
