Default Mirror wont stay in place. On sporty.

I took my bike to the stealersjip for a service, and the mechanic bumped my mirror. I sure it was by accident but now it wont stay in one place. It just swivels loosely on the ball socket. How can I get it to stay put?

Adjust the tension wit the two screws on the back side of the mirror. If one of the screws has become disengaged from the tensioner plate you will have hell getting it started again but it can be done.

Good Luck

Maybe my mirror is a new style. I'm looking at it and there are no screws on the back just smooth. My bike is an 08' and they are factory equipment on it.

Take it back and have him either fix it or replace it. It wasn't like that before you got there.

Those mirrors are not real good when they get moved alot. Usually, once you get them set, that's about it, move them after that, and you'll have a hard time getting them to stay put. Might want to take it back and talk to them, after all, it was ok when you took it to them.

Yeah I called the Dealer and guy said it could be replaced under warranty, but it crappy there is no adjustment. He said my only alternative was to put blue Lock-Tite on the socket.

Any good ideas for differant mirrors? I have trouble at times seeing over my shoulders. I've tried extensions even differant mirrors with longer arms. Only made them vibrate more. If they just a few inches out to the end more.

Yeah, those mirrors are a pressure fit. I would not lock-tite it though.
