Cool My sporties transformation; new rider, new paint, new attitude.

Heres my 07 XL1200C. I just bought her about a month ago, with a picture in my head of how I wanted her to look. Armed with some basic painting equipment, some hand tools, some Miller Lite and a little time, I ripped into the bike without thinking twice...I guess it turned out decent. Let me know what you think.

The day she was delivered. Cobalt blue.

Stripped down without tins, lowered it. I think these are the shocks the 48 comes with... 11.25 eye to eye, but I still wish it was lower. Me and my Lady wouldn't be able to ride it with 10" on it.... The stock shocks were 14.25 eye to eye! anyone want to buy them from me?

Laid down the GM Gunmetal Grey basecoat after sanding the whole bike down from 250 grit all the way up to 800 grit. Had to repair some little dings on the tank. That original chrome gas tank trim was concealing the baby dents. you never know what youre gonna find when taking things apart!

After a LOOOONNNNNG debate about what I wanted to put on the bike, (my thoughts ranged anywhere from a louis vuitton uniprint, to zebra stripes, to rogue status gun uniprint...which I will most likely do eventually, but this paint will be alright for one season...) I found the skull stencil and decided that this would be perfect. It came in a 3 pack with 3 different sizes. I airbrushed these onto the tank, front and rear fenders. I think it turned out pretty good for my first ever attempt at airbrushing.

Then sprayed it with clear.

Debated about the chrome pinstriping, can always take it off if i so desire, but the girl told me that it rounds out the look and needed to be done. Obviously, I do what she says. haha.

Thats It, let me know what ya think!

Awesome look bike man, but time for some nice pipes. I like the rear fendor and paint. I'm not too sure about the chrome stripes, but they don't don't make or brake the bike.

One word...beautiful. I think that the chrome stripes go along great with all the chrome of the "C".

I guess it did cuz the first picture is the day he got it, and the drags are there. I love my drags.
