Speedo mounted to the eyebrow?

Speedo mounted to the eyebrow?
As you can see I have a 07 XL50 and it has the stock tach and speedo combo. I love the tach so getting rid of it is out of the question. I also have the HD 4" pull back risers and I love them too with my drag bars, hower with that riser it makes the gagues stand stright up like an old dirt bike LOL! I hate them being up there like that. So here is my thought. The bolts for the eyebrow looks close to the same distance apart as the top clamp bolts that the gagues bolt to. has anyone mounted there speedo to the eyebrow? The bolts may be a bit off, but a small L bracket would solve that. So anyone try this or have tips?

I have an 09 iron & moved my speedo on top of the headlight visor. I used an 883 low speedo mount that also accomodates the dummy lights. With a slight modification to the mounting holes & 2" spacers it mounts up perfectly & does not hit the visor. I also changed my bars to straight drag bars on 5" risers to maintain the same bar height. I will try to post pic's this weekend. My current sig pic does not have this mod.

I have a 98 1200 with the speedo Tach combo. I mounted mine to the light visor also. so I could mount my drag bars nice and low. I elongated the gauge mount hole slightly to make up for the diff. I spaced the gauges above the visor Approx 1 3/8" with a piece of rubber between the gauges and visor. I did have it higher so not to hit the visor but the vibration would shear the bolts off. Havent had much trouble since I dropped them down pretty solid now.

I recently did the same thing to my wife's '08 883L. She likes chrome on her bike so for the risers I used two 3/8 drive deep well 1/2" sockets. Then I went to the hardware store and bought the same allen hex key mount bolts but longer to accomodate for the added height. All in all it took me about 15 minutes and cost about six bucks. The holes between the speedo and the headlight cover matched up perfectly. I am at work right now, but I can post pics later when I get home if anyone wants to see another bike with this setup.

The bolts are the same pitch as the headlight visor mounting bolts, just longer to accomodate the spacers. I purchased mine at the local hardware store. Not sure of the exact pitch, I just matched the stock bolts to a nut at the hardware store, the length is 2 1/2".
