Default 1200 Kit and other add ons

I am fairly new to the HD world (first Harley); and a coworker mentioned (as well saw on the forum) that there are 1200 engine kits for the 883?
Can anyone care to expand what all is included. The 883 custom came with the Stage 1 Screamin' Eagle pipes; but I am always looking for more ways to squeeze more HP,Torque, and Sound out of it.

Along the same lines, what other engine mods would one suggest to squeeze more out of the 883.

883-1200 conversions are BASICALLY replacing the stock cylinders and pistons. Do some reading here in the forum, there's a ton threads on this and you'll get a bunch of great info.

883 to 1200 conversion,

The easy and less expensive way to do it is to change the cylinders , get a pair of pistons specially designed to work with stock 883 cylinder heads ( think wiseco pistons are very popular aroun ) rejet the carb and change the ignition module .
Aftermarket product companies recently introduced 1250 kits also .

You can get some new cams , cylinder heads , adjustable ign. module and a new carburator to get the maximum HP .

As xlocd told , do some searches around and you will find tons of materials regarding the conversion and a lot of ways to do ıt

All depends on how deep ıs your wallet $$$$$$$$$

Another important thing is to make the right conversion that will fit your riding style .

Some people looks for low and mid. range power that generally is very usefull with 2 up riding and long trips .
Other people look for high RPM applications .
My english is not bad but sometimes ı have dıffucultıes to find the right words.
Hope this will help .
Anybody correct me ıf ı am wrong please.
Ride safe.

My 883R is 2 weeks old now and I've been doing alot of research concerning your questions. If your 883 is an 06 or older, you have different options. My 07 (FI) is another matter. I've been in touch with the aftermarket guys and untill they get their hands on the new motors, nothing is available for the 07's except through HD (and they won't be available untill Oct 06). I plan on purchasing HD's 1200 kit which as mentioned just makes my 882 a HD 1200. It does come with stage I air cleaner, then I'll add pipes and probably call it good.

I have the 2006 883C; and have the SE Stage 1 cleaner and pipes. And yes, there is tons of stuff on the forum on this (I previously missed the search option).

The dealer said that I would be back in 6months if I bought one to get a bigger bike because of my build. (6.4 190lbs). But as a first Harley, no sense in dumping more than 10gs on a bike. So far happey has hell

I've got an '05, 1200 Custom and have had it over a year now... I would agree witht he dealer in as much as your build... I've tried to get this thing comfortable for me every since. I am 6' 3" and 215. Though I love this bike... comfort wise I wish I would have went bigger.

But dang it... I love that 1200 engine and the main reason I got the sportster.

I guess the body aint what it use to be... lol

dbleagle - As a ride more mainly a compute to work 10 miles; figured this would do for now. But I see know what they mean...a dyna wide glide would be more comfortable on those long trips.

I did some research on the forum and internet and looking at 1000-1500 for a kit. Think I will pass on that for now; francos suggestion sounds better.
