1987 Sportster project!!
Okay, I bought this a month or so ago strictly as a great project. I am attaching 3 pictures, the one with the sissy bar is how it looked when I got it, the two others are how it looks now, in phase one as I call it with new seat, pipes and some other goodies, and the last picture is with the tank that will go on it in a mock up phase to check clearance with the drag bars!!

Okay, update, painted the tank, very fun, long story, did the body work, fine, did the basecoat black, fine, did the flames layout, fine, airbrushed the flames, again still fine. Then removed the masking and saw that the xacto knife went deeper then I care for so I decided to sue the ol pinstripe brush to fill in the cuts, just to be safe.......bad.....bad.....
the brush dripped on one of the flames, of course that destroied the flame. So I decided to proceed and retouch the flame and finish, if for no other reason than to see how it was going to look. Well the tank looks great, it would need a wet sand and then final clear coats as the first coat went on a bit too thick and too orange peal. however I can spot the patch work on the flame as soon as the light hits it, so I guess I need to get the courage up and start over. I have more than enough paint left, it is just that other than the small deffect, about 1 cm in size, it look fantastic.
