Default History of one sportster (a lot of pics)

Hi all!
I want to tell you a history of my sportster.
2 years ago i became an owner of pretty XL1200R 2005

no money - no funny, so first season (in Russia we can ride only 5-6 month per year) i had ride it without any tuning. What i understand clearly - middle controls on a highway is bad my knees starts screaming after 200 miles, custom lowered seat and low hard suspension make my *** and back cry. No saddlebags - so all necessary things (like bottle of vodka, ushanka and balalaika ) find their place in my backpack.

At last travel, when i was very tired, we finished in the curb. Front fork, handlebar and front wheel was broken. So...it was time to modify my sporty.
First of all i have painted all engine covers to black

Different chrome accesories was removed and new fork with custom triple tree from DNA (+3 degrees) was installed (fork size is 41 mm)

What next? Of course forward controls. It`s a great fortune that i know one guy - a custom master, so forwards were made from softail controls + my footpegs.

Easy rider gives me no sleep, so zbar apehanger with internal wiring was installed

What about intake-exhaust? K&N filter + CV40 jet kit + open pipes. Pipes appears to be VERY loud, all neighbours love me more and more

On this year i ride on it about 10000 miles and i can said that all modifications was pretty good for me. Riding position is relaxed, fat front wheel, 41mm fork and progressive suspension shocks eats all road holes much better than stock suspension, seat from 01` sportster let me think about what i want.

I'm not digging the bags or the seat, but the rest of the mods are cool.

When you put on a new wheel, why did you go to a single rotor for the brake instead of the dual rotor?

He didn't want to cover up that 80 spoke wheel.
Outstanding effort on the forward controls. It's looking pretty sweet.

Great job with the mods. I really enjoyed the photo history, and especially got a good laugh from the snow shots. A job well done.

because wheel and fork was for only one rotor, brake support - 4 piston brembo, so it`s no problems with braking

Nice job! Here in Canada, I'm at the same latitude as Moscow, so I totally relate to the restricted riding season. I went with 11-3/4" air ride shocks from a street glide on the rear suspension with mine to improve the ride.
