Default Too Big?

Most of you might have seen my previous post where I state I'm considering a 96 Sporty 1200. I have another question. I'm 6'3" and approx 285 Lbs. I look similar to a Sherman Tank. Am I too big for a sportster with mids? Forward controls?

I wouldn't say that your too big but you might grow out of it pretty quickly. Once I got use to my Sporty it made me wanna upgrade :-)

Btw I am 6'1, 165lbs

This is just MY opinion, but honestly, you're a pretty big dude to be riding on a smaller bike. I mean, it will work fine and still be a blast, but you may look like a clown on one of those little circus bicycles.

In my opinion, you'll be wanting something else very quickly...

+1 on that , I'm only 5'9" and I feel cramped with mid controls.
I would think you could make if fit if you liked it. They make aftermarket forward controls that are out 2" father than Harley forwards, and you can get a custom seat.

I'm 6'0", and was 280 last year. I felt just fine on my Nightster with mids. Who cares what you look like? It's about how you feel, and even more so, about enjoying the ride.

At your size, you might feel uncomfortable on any Sportster without a custom seat, stretched frame, etc.
