Sounds like you two need to take a road trip to another dealer and see.

The Superlow,,,MSRP $7,999-$8,499 plus TTT and dealer fees
Dealer fee's over 300 bucks Is a rip off

so 9,000 to 9,400 OTD is fair.

$10,000 or more ! It's not a 1200

The bike is the 2011 White/Orange 883 SuperLow with the security system and a set of chrome switch covers already installed. They initially quoted 11,200.00 taxes and everything. I fought with them and they went down to $10,100.00. I wouldn’t move over $9500.00. So the sales manager let me walk out the door at that price. Do you think they are asking too much or do you think their deal is reasonable? One thing that I thought was high was the set-up assembly fee they were charging was $1300.00. Anyways, I live in Las Vegas, so I’m going to call a few out of state dealers and see if they are willing to do a little better. I’m not trying to get the thing below cost but I don’t think in the current is economic climate I should have to pay above retail. P.S. I currently own a 09 Ultra Classic.
$11,200 for a Superlow. Absolutely, positively without a doubt NO FRICKIN' WAY! $10,100 warrants the same answer. I would laugh straight in the salespersons face and tell them when their ready to make a sale come back with a reasonable price. That is a complete ripoff for that bike. In this economy I wouldn't pay a dime over MSRP and that's if I'm in a generous mood.
The only realy power you have in a negotiation is your ability to walk out. Don't be afraid to utilize that power, no matter how bad you want what their selling. I went to a dealer once to look at a used truck. He was asking like $4G for it. I told him I knew full well what it was worth and that I wouldn't give him more than $2500 OTD for it. Of course he refused and I left. I went back a couple weeks later and asked him if he was ready to sell it and guess what, I paid $2500 OTD for a pretty nice little truck.

IMO the superlow is well worth the extra grand. I you ge the 4.4 tank, batter wheels and tires, the wide trees and the over all look of the bike is alot better. Plus from what i read the superlow handles alot better.

Default SuperLow

Well, I called a dealer in Arizona and they told me $10,400.00 OTD. So I told them No Thanks!

My calculations MSRP : 8499.00 for two tone color, 305.00 destination, 370.00 security,and 7.5 Nevada TAX $ 688.00 = 9862.05 OTD.

The local dealer is telling me that there is a 1300.00 fee to assembly the bike. Is that their way of sticking it to the customer? Anyways unless they call back with a better offer I guess the deal isnt going to happen.

MSRP on the black was $7999 and the two tone one we got (Orange and White) was $8499.

Got it, 2 rider classes, 2 up seat for $7799 and a few bucks of dealer fees.

Check it out. I know it seems risky buy on Ebay but do your home work and you can get a deal. This is an example of a nice 1200 for way less than the new 883s you are looking at!!!!! At 2000miles it is still new.

But if that isn't the SuperLow but the Low, is the redesigned suspension and geometry worth it?

I do not know the fine details on the suspentions of those two models. I do know that the 883 superlow retail is $8000. The retail on the 1200 low is about $10000. With 2 min effort I found a 1200 low for less than $6000 buy it now with about 2000 miles on it. As far as use sportys go it is a buyers market. Figure out what bike you must have or the models that will do and do a search. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.
If it was me I would most certainly buy a as new used low 1200 for 6 grand before I would buy a new superlow 882 for over 10 grand...but thats me.
If you do buy off the net you will have to go get it or have it shipped for about $600.

I'll go look again but I don't think I paid 10000 for it. I thought it was $8499 for the two tone model which retails for $500 more than the black at $7999. I got it for $7799 and I think there was tax, title, license and a dealer prep which. I want to say I made it out with $8500 with a 2 up seat and 2 rider classes so it might be more worth it with the deal I got. We would after all get the classes ourselves if we didn't have it.

At 10 grand, I would have SERIOUS questions as to whether I wanted it or the 1200. We did want an 883 as a starter bike for learning but we also thought of the 1200 for future growth.
