883 SuperLow vs 883 L ?

Just got back from the Dealer and they had already sold the last 2010 883 L so that helped out with deciding on which bike to pick. The problem we ran into was the price. I know it’s confusing on quoting out the door prices, but I’m going to anyways!
The bike is the 2011 White/Orange 883 SuperLow with the security system and a set of chrome switch covers already installed. They initially quoted 11,200.00 taxes and everything. I fought with them and they went down to $10,100.00. I wouldn’t move over $9500.00. So the sales manager let me walk out the door at that price. Do you think they are asking too much or do you think their deal is reasonable? One thing that I thought was high was the set-up assembly fee they were charging was $1300.00. Anyways, I live in Las Vegas, so I’m going to call a few out of state dealers and see if they are willing to do a little better. I’m not trying to get the thing below cost but I don’t think in the current is economic climate I should have to pay above retail. P.S. I currently own a 09 Ultra Classic.

The only realy power you have in a negotiation is your ability to walk out. Don't be afraid to utilize that power, no matter how bad you want what their selling. I went to a dealer once to look at a used truck. He was asking like $4G for it. I told him I knew full well what it was worth and that I wouldn't give him more than $2500 OTD for it. Of course he refused and I left. I went back a couple weeks later and asked him if he was ready to sell it and guess what, I paid $2500 OTD for a pretty nice little truck.

SuperLow
Well, I called a dealer in Arizona and they told me $10,400.00 OTD. So I told them No Thanks!
My calculations MSRP : 8499.00 for two tone color, 305.00 destination, 370.00 security,and 7.5 Nevada TAX $ 688.00 = 9862.05 OTD.
The local dealer is telling me that there is a 1300.00 fee to assembly the bike. Is that their way of sticking it to the customer? Anyways unless they call back with a better offer I guess the deal isnt going to happen.

Check it out. I know it seems risky buy on Ebay but do your home work and you can get a deal. This is an example of a nice 1200 for way less than the new 883s you are looking at!!!!! At 2000miles it is still new.

If it was me I would most certainly buy a as new used low 1200 for 6 grand before I would buy a new superlow 882 for over 10 grand...but thats me.
If you do buy off the net you will have to go get it or have it shipped for about $600.

At 10 grand, I would have SERIOUS questions as to whether I wanted it or the 1200. We did want an 883 as a starter bike for learning but we also thought of the 1200 for future growth.
