Default gas mileage drop

I have an 06 1200c. I normally get at least 180 mile from fill up to hitting reserve. the last few tanks I have only gotten 160 to 165 miles from fill up to reserve. The bike seems to run fine, I can find no leaks.A couple of other points may or may not be connected. My shift points have changed. I use to shift into 5th at around 55 mph now I have to shift into 5th at around 65 mph. Today while going down I 10 I was cruising a 80 mph and people were flying past me. I wasn't even catching up to motor homes or people pulling trailers. and it sure didn't feel like 80. Any ideas?
Thanks
Lou

When you say 160 miles is that real miles traveled (like a known trip that is 160 miles) or what is listed on your odometer because it sounds like your speedometer/odometer is not reading properly, can you get someone to drive beside you to check it?

the mileage is from reading the odometer.

It sure sounds like the speedo is reading high but the odo is reading low if that's possible, I would get someone to pace me to check the speedo and go for a ride a known distance to check the odo.

Did you really use get 180 miles to reserve when doing 80 or was that when you were running 65-70?
I can get 180 before reserve all day running 70MPH, but step it up to 80 MPH and 155-160 miles is more like it.

Winter fuel gives much worse mileage. More noticable in a bike since the mileage begins at such a high number.

Check your fuel vacum tube. Mine started getting a lower gas milage and then I came off. I don't know if this caused it, but my bike started running a lot better after it can off and was reconnected. Just a thought. I may be wrong about what the tube is called, but you will know what I'm talking about.

Check & see if you are getting the enhanced ethanol gas... They upped the percentage to 15% recently.

I'm not sure what vacuum tube you are talking about. And I am still getting the wonderful 10% ethanol gas.
