Default Riding Glasses ?

Hey everyone ...

So I picked up a pair of riding glasses from the hd dealer a few months back and they were $50 bucks, not really top of the line; So my question is which glasses would you suggest for 60+ mph and where to get them from?

O btw I do have a full face for longer HWY trips but I need glasses that I can use from time to time going at speed.

Thanks in advance

I found watery eyes at higher speeds to be a pain, usually at the start of the season. Found the Oakley ones that wrap around the side to work really well. Or like said goggles for longer rides.

+1 on oakleys. I haventhe jawbone w/ interchangable lenses. You can get clear for night riding and you can get lenses that are vented to avoid fogging.

A few years ago, I picked up two pair from my local Honda dealer. One clear and one tinted. $12 a pair. They have foam padding around the lenses to prevent wind from entering and work really well. BTW...they also float. So, if you ever drive your bike into a lake, at least you'll still have your glasses!

Prescription or non prescription? There is a big difference in that with prescription glasses, especially with a large frame & lenses to protect the eye area. If there is substantial curvature of the lens, images will distort with prescription glasses. I have a pair of Harley-Davidson prescription glasses that are Transition (light sensitive color changing) and are terrific.

I wear Wiley-X SG-1's when I ride. Got turned onto them as a turret gunner in Iraq, and wouldn't trust my eyesight to less now. Here's why:

i have a cheap pair of plastic ones that wrap around the side of my head, wear them when riding or not, work great. Also have a good pair of amber glasses for night riding, way better than clear as they cut down glare from oncoming lights and seem to make things a shade brighter too.

I have a pair of Global Vision Outfitters with the photochromic lenses. They fit over my prescription glasses nicely and the foam around the edges works well at keeping any air out while at highway speeds.

I collect Oakleys, and used to ride with them until my friend was riding his Road King and they flew off. Never ride with an open faced helmet and expensive glasses and look behind you!
