Best said to date.

The ride, the sound, the feel is all Harley. Tweek it till and make it yours, thats why Harley riders stay Harley riders!

All the rest are wannabe's.

Same here, except I was only not riding for about 6 years. I was paying cash, and a used '06 1200 Custom was in my price range.

The sportster just felt right. I like the stripped down basic feel and don't want cup holders, arm rests, or radio while I am riding.

I wouldn't have even looked at my sporty except that it was over 3 times cheaper than a softail I admired. Thought, way cheaper, let's look, and it had the right seat and bars to be real comfortable for me (most sporties aren't). Not real crazy about the color, but otherwise really like it, and since it came with the original peanut tank, been thinking about getting some used fenders and seeing if I can still paint (been over 20 years since I painted a bike). I'm still looking for that larger Harley that will follow me home, and if I find it, another bike will have to make room, but doubt it will be the sporty. Or that silly thing in the sig pic, fed it and now it won't leave.

After i sat on my first Sportster I fell in love. It was by far the most comfortable bike for me.

Sketch a motorcycle.

OK? Done?

Looks like a Sportster, doesn't it?

That's why.

I chose a Sportster because I thought it would be a good "beginner" bike, not too big, but with enough ***** to get around. I am totally satisfied with my 48; there is something about it that just makes me smile every time I get on it.

My next bike will probably be a Softail, but I'll always have a soft spot for my Sportster.

Exactly. I have enough cupholders, trunk space, a windshield, a radio, floorboards, and whatnot in my car. I'm getting a motorcycle, not another car.
