Default Fat front tire on '07 Custom?

I am planning on buying an '07 xl1200c but I really like the new fat front on the 2011's. Is it possible to put the same wide tire, 130/90B16 M/C 72H, on the 07? Obviously I would need a different wheel but what would it take?

If you'll notice, the 2011's forks are spaced further apart. I'm not sure if the narrow front end will handle the fat tire. I think the tubes are the same size, just further apart.

You can find some Sportsters, fitting a fat tire on narrow glide front end, but you need some tricks to do so, grinding the fork boots, no front fender etc. Better go with mid or wide glide triple trees... I'm in the process of doing this on my 06' Custom fitting a 120 tire on 18" wheel (like on Superlow), I bought a mid glide conversion kit (includes everything needed to do the conversion - triple trees, axle, spacers etc.)...imo mid glide looks better than wide glide on Sportsters, but it's a matter of personal taste...

Vulcan Engineering.

Hawg Halters makes a nice one too... Just make sure to look for a kit, not just the triple trees...

Can you still use the stock fender or do you have to do without?

You need to modify the stock fender in order to fit the fat tire...Other options are buying a new one (it would cost you about $100, raw) or go without a front fender, in this case you should better install a fork brace instead of a fender...
