Low fuel light... how much longer to go?
Obviously, city vs highway speeds and stop and go traffic would greatly impact the range you can go once the "Low Fuel" light comes on... but on average, how long do you guys go before filling up once the light comes on?
I've only had the bike 2 days, so I haven't had much time to really get to know/familiar with it... but I was just wondering when the light came on this morning on my way to work.

Ignore the gas light, it's a piece of junk. Mine comes on all the time with no real consistency.
I suggest you get a small container of fuel, fill the tank, reset the odometer, and see how many miles you get before it runs dry.
With my 3.3gal tank, I think I can get about 100'ish miles before I reach the danger zone.

As for the low fuel light I wouldn't trust it. Use your odometer as your fuel gauge.
I personally fill er' up all the time. Even if it is only a gallon I top off. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

No fuel light on an '00 XL1200C... the trip odometer usually reads around 135 when I have to switch to reserve. Ran her completely dry at 180 miles on a road trip once - underestimated distance to next fuel stop/overestimated amount of reserve.
Fortunately we were within two miles of a station.
And, yes, that peanut tank holds 3.3 US gallons. Not a drop more.

If you have the 3.3gal tank, the light should come on when you have about .8-1 gallon left.
Mine comes on very consistently when I've used 2.1 gallons of fuel, usually at about the 100-110 mile mark.
What I recommend:
Use your trip A meter for each tank. Use trip B for whatever else you want.
Watch Trip A as if its a fuel gauge, when it hits 100, go straight to the gas station.
