Default New air Filter question

Just a quick question...... Just got a new K & N filter, do I need to add oil or something to it before I put it on?

Shouldn't. All my new ones are reddish in color. If it is whitish, yes.

The box should have said per-oiled. Put it in and go ride.

Yes it does but having had a filter in wrapping from the box that was un-oiled, I think the OP does ask a good question.

If it's red then it's oiled, if it's white it isn't.
