Where did you get the back plate from????

Vibration is minimal … and yes, it clears the tank. Thought those of you wanting to do similar may be interested in the results.

The current back plate is from the tachometer that I removed. The original plate from my speedo got dinged up when the bike was dropped by a previous owner.

I recall seeing back plates occasionally on EBay ... so try looking there. However, It appears my bike is older than yours. I just don't know if my back plate set-up would work for you.

Also rebuilt the carburetor, and after setting the idle and mixture this little 883 runs great. I bought a new K&N filter that I will leave uncovered as shown. Didn’t like the galvanized finish, so I painted it silver.

Now I need to address the long cables, front brake line and excess wiring.

What was the part number for your carburetor? I currently have a 1996 spprtster xl883 trying to find the rebuild kit for the carburetor. My part number is 27490-96. Any websites would help

• Aluminum & chrome rubbed out w/Scotch pads

• Rear fender frame rails cut off

Looks great, man, is that still a 19" wheel up front? I was thinking of going 16 front and rear, but that looks good.
