I'm seriously considering trying these pegs...or possibly the more blacked out Stealth Trap pegs.... decisions.... Do like the contrast of the Carvers though...

Here are some pegs that are adjustable and come in a couple of different sizes 100% made in the USA with USA material from
FigureMachine.com/

I've dealt with these guys for a few years and their customer service is the best you'll find. Call 'em up and let them know if you want a particular powder coat color and they'll probably work something up for you. You won't be disappointed.

I tried mids for a day and absolutely hated them, but I don't think they make you less of a man. Fans of the mids will claim that mids offer better control and forwards are for a poser wanna-be who doesn't know how to ride, but I'm not mad at them. The forwards really aren't that far forward. You should see the 3" extended controls on my Softail. Those are forwards.

Same here, but I might be closer to 5'10".

You might consider doing some suspension mods to gain a bit more ground clearance. A taller rear shock would likely help.
On my '08 1200R, I installed Ohlins rear shocks and changed out the fork springs to RaceTech. This is because I used up 2/3 of the travel just by sitting on the bike- and I only weigh 165. The improvement was stellar...handles much, much better.
It's no secret that HD really scimps on the suspension.
I too prefer mids...they are more conducive to good handling. And you can stand up on them while going over rrtracks or rough spots on the road.

It just makes sense that the closer to the center of mass your inputs are (pegs, bars...) the more precise they will be; IF handling is a priority...and the fact you're scraping says it is...I've ridden bikes with apes and forewards and it definately is a more "relaxed" position, but I've not seen apes and forewards on anything that was intended to handle well when ridden with agression...

I personally prefer the forward controls. But hey, what ever trips your trigger is all that matters, right?

Sporty is the only Harley to consider mids on. It rides like a sport bike, and when it is windy the mids are better to get you really strapped in. I ride Forwards however and recommend them for cruising. I am 6'0"
