I use both mirrors and would not get rid of one but at the same time I do exactly what you do - look back when changing lanes. Totally eliminates the "Is there something in my blind spot?" worry.

I still remember the SMOG achronym from my MSF class. Signal- Mirror-Over the Shoulder-Go.

But, even if I’m not changing lanes, I do regular glances in the mirrors to see what is around me.

I want to do weight reduction. Which brake is safer to remove, front or back?

Also, could I relocate my blinkers next to each other's, in the middle? Would look nice imo.

Look at the blinkers on this bike...
(BTW, my fatboy looks a lot like that one. When I saw his mods I tried to emulate them, to a point.)
