If you have a bike with the factory tires and no manual jump onto the HD website. They have manuals online for simple questions like this. Im assuming they look into things like the weight of the bike and other variables to give you the correct psi for your set up. For example with my 06 1200r they recomend 30 front and 36 rear. I'm sure there are some here that have different harley recommendations for defferent year sportys.

I just installed a new Michelin Commander II on my 2007 1200 C, the original Dunlop 80/90x21 called for 30 PSI. The Commander says to use the bike mfrs. PSI. I let it sit for about 10 days with 33 lbs in it and today it was still at 33, I installed Dyna Beads in it today so its at 30 now.

According to my dealer, and assuming you have scorcher 31 tires, It should be 30-38.

My brand new Avon tires calls for 40 psi on both ends as well.

I find this pathetic. No one placed the manual in your hand so you'd rather do without? Rather than simply buy one?

Come on!

It's an old thread but, looking back I cannot find the OP trying to help himself by telling us what brand of tyres he has. It, being an '08, could well mean that he does not have the OEM tyres anymore. And we all know that different brands have different pressures and that's beside personal preferences.

No one has mentioned this but when you run higher PSI in a tire you reduce the size of the contact patch, personally, when a range is recommended I'd go for the lowest number.

I used to ride a MAICO that had a 2.5x21 knobby on the front, my ridin buds teased me about my 21 inch razor blade but that thing cornered like it was on rails.
