Default Custom to Low speedo mount questions... I'm almost there!

So I have an '07 XL1200 Custom and like most I'm ordering parts to switch out the pullback risers. I've got the part list pretty much down for chrome housing and such:

55846-05A - Chrome Speedo Housing
67089-05 - Chrome Speedo Back Cover
67104-95 - Speedo Cushion
67121-95A - Front Speedo Gasket
68813-07 - Wire Harness
68513-95 - Warning Lamp Bezel
56541-86A - L Handlebar Clamp
56542-86A - R Handlebar Clamp
2325 - Screw x2
2361 - Screw x2
3210A - Screw x4

The style speedo mount is this kind:

The questions I have before I place the order are:

1. I've seen two part numbers for the harness thrown around, 68813-07 and 688813-04. The latter is almost tripple the price. I read that the latter is also an incorrect part number in the parts manual. What is the difference and which one do I need?

2. The indicator bezel, 68513-95, can't be found anywhere! The online stores that do sell it say it's out of stock or obsolete. Has is been replaced with something else? The parts guy at HD gave me the same part number for the bezel though so I'm confused. Also, he didn't say I needed the jewel, 68551-07, which also appears obsolete in online stores and is only listed in some online parts lists.

I realize that the indicator light swap is different between the custom and the low but it seems a lot of the information online is for switching to either the older style mount:

or the newer style mount that I'm trying to switch to. It's just difficult telling which style people are referring to. If I can get all this sorted out I'll do the swap and take pictures/make a guide and part list for anyone who wants to do it in the future.

Thanks!

That guage mount looks different than the one I switched to. The one I used is from an 07 1200l. That's the one you want. You will need the corresponding jewel.

Here, you can see the black strip on mine, that's the jewel they mention. The guage mount is counter sunk so that when you put your jewel strip in there it will sit flush. The mount you posted doesn't have that meaning you'd be looking at an entirely different jewel and light set up that I'm unfamiliar with.

Opps, I pulled the wrong image. I edited it now. Is that black strip the part number 68513-95? I think that part 68551-07 was for the older style setup. Do you know if the one from the custom setup will fit? It doesn't look like it will but I can't find 68513-95 anywhere online.

Custom speedo housing for reference:

Edit: I'm almost positive it doesn't fit.
Edit again: It for sure don't fit. Looks like the jewel part number is 68551-95 for the newer mount but that is showing up as obsolete in all the online stores as well...
Edit one last time I hope:

So it looks like the whole housing is:
68513-95 - Black bezel housing
68551-95 - Jewel (aka strip that has the symbols on it)

It seems difficult/impossible to find these online though.

You're correct the one off the c is significantly shorter than the one you're going to need. When I did mine I went to the stealer and showed the parts guy the style mount I wanted (pointed it on a nightster I think but told him I wanted chrome). He found that the 07 L was the right look for me. I then told him I was going to need the corresponding jewel. He found it. You should go to your local stealer. I believe the jewel you need fits the nughtsters as well so while you're looking for one that may say obsolete you will probably be able to find on from a newer model exactly the same with a different number. That's all stuff the parts guy can do for you so you don't get the wrong numbers.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I was kinda wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head what the new part numbers may be. I'm working off the a combination of the part numbers the parts guy gave me and what people have said online. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see about getting the parts I can't find online. I'll post what I find out.

All of the parts (except for the bezel) was just ordered for ~$260.

So it turns out that the bezel part number 68513-95 includes the jewel and is now part number 68513-95A. That is why the jewel part number 68551-07 shows up as obsolete. I called the local stealership and they actually had the bezel (68513-95A) on hand. The other parts have been ordered and once I tear into everything I'll make a new post with pictures of all the parts and their corresponding part numbers.

With risers, drags, and everything else listed, I was around $250 as well

No idea on where to get the wheel. Once all the parts come in I'll take photos and put a list or guide together.
