I'm taking all your advice into consideration.

The reason I don't get a bigger bike is mainly price. I'd get a fatboy if price was off the table, but it isn't.

I've thought about the 883R, it's not entirely off the table yet, but you gotta admit that it doesn't have the same appeal as the Iron. The XL1200 is another idea, but it is as low as the Iron.

From what I understood from the salesman talk the other day, the shockers used to bottom out until they replaced it with better ones that don't. But I'll definitely do a test drive in a double seat unit with her in both Iron and 883R to see which one drives better with both of us on it.

Thanks a lot for the input!

It's called a "touring bike"...

Seriously - look @ options w/Mustang seats - good stuff.

The badlander would be a last resort if we really don't find anything else. And then we'll switch from riding 400 miles to getting a plane ticket, which is not nearly as fun (hate airports).

IronBoy883, that's exactly the sissy bar I'm thinking of going for, where did you get it?

Iceman24, I didn't get your correction. What do you mean by "It's called a touring bike?"

And to the rest of you, GF is officially terrified, since I just showed her all your messages so far. :P

I admit the two are worlds apart, but of the two I personally would prefer the 883R, much more appealing! It is the one Sporty that is set up to easily carry two. It also has better suspension and can be had in black!
