Elbow grease....

But really... Some people rave about lemon pledge and how it cleans virtually the entire bike. I use it and love it. For a lot of my chrome parts, I use 0000 (4 ot) steel wool. It is more of a polisher and not too abrasive. Don't go over the same spot for too long with this though. I use it for my pipes, anything showing sign of rust and real crusted on bugs. Stay away from anything abrasive on your chrome parts becuase chrome is just a thin coat.

You have an Iron though, not much chrome on her. Gunk Engine de-greaser works good for the nook and crannies around you motor and tranny that get oil and road grim build up.

Pretty common sense stuff, man.

Forget the more expensive HD stuff and use regular Windex on everything and wipe with a clean microfibre cloth. When I picked my Iron up new a year ago that is what the dealer used to detail it. 10000 km later and it still looks like new. If it is really dirty you may want to wash it first with a wax free car wash soap before you wipe with windex.

Lightly wet microfiber cloth is what I use 99% of the times.
I think last time I washed (as in, soap and hose) a bike was like 2009.
I try to use the less chemicals as possible.
Less is the new more

Well the manual recommends mild dish soap. I have used Dawn with good results. Some people say it is a bad idea to do this, but i'm 4 years in doing it with no sign of bad results.

The only time I have ever used dish soap is before I do a complete detail on a car or bike. The dish soap is great at removing the old wax. If you don't want to strip any wax off use a good car wash soap. I have been using Lemon pledge on my Fatboy LO since I got it and it works great on the denim black paint as well.

If you have the black denim paint, DO NOT use car washing soaps. Most have a wax additive and will make your paint shine. I use the harley cleaner. Some say use windex cleaner. But the HD cleaner is cheap enough that I only use that. I just spay and whip after I ride and so far I haven't used soap and water. If your going to try something new, try it in an out of sight area and see what it does.
