Default New seat doesn't cover the tank anymore

I bought a seat off ebay. It is a 2-up seat. It came off a 1995 1200. I wanted a new seat because the stock one was not very comfy after about an hour. Espiecally for the passenger.

Well the new one sits a lot lower. It doesn't go up onto the tank, like the stock seat used to. So now I have some nasty looking black marks on the tank. Most of them are on the plastic sticker type thing. Is there an easy way to get that sticker off? I picked at it a little bit and it didn't seem to want to come off. Can it be heated up or maybe goof off, or wd-40?

Also, the new seat rocks on the back fender. Is there a way to wedge something under it? I tightened the screw as tight as it will go, but it still wobbles.

Here is a pick of the seat I bought and a pic of the black stuff on the tank.

Try a little alcohol first...then some fine buffing compound if that doesnt get it.

I've always used goof off when removing decals from my vehicles. It is a strong mixture but has worked great for me. Just test it on a small surface before going at it. But I've never had any issues with it.

I used an alcohol pad and it took the black marks right off. I didn't have to take the plastic sticker off
