Recall Notice: 0613: RCL:FUEL FILLER NECK-0613
Was just on the HD site and noticed my bike has a recall.Anyone received a letter from Harley yet? I bought my bike used and added it to the Harley site in my name but no letter yet.

 

Called the dealer today and the recall affects 2008 to 2011 models.Seems the threads that the gas cap screws into needs to be chased with a tool HD is sending to the dealers.Gas caps are just not sealing properly.According to the dealer the bikes are still safe to ride.(Dealer states it is more of a emissions issue than a safety issue) Recall letters should be hitting the mailboxes soon......

 

Maybe that explains why my garage always smells like gas and my cap doesnt feel right when I screw it in. I was looking to buy a new cap...maybe I dont have to now.

 

The building I keep my bike in always smells like gas also and the building is only for the bike(No other machines are in it)

 

Must not affect all models, there's no active recall shown for my 2009 883L

 

It may not affect all models,I did not get a chance to ask the dealer that.

 

Did he give you an idea of when the dealers would recieve the tap?

 

My dealer in upstate NY says HD sent the tool out to them last week (15th) but it has not arrived yet.

EDIT...never mind, found it.

 

Hmmm. My girl has an 09 1200 custom and I ALWAYS smell gas when her bike is in my garage, but not with either of my bikes.
