Actually the suction cup seat is probably a better option since I can just throw it on for short rides either my lady. But will the fender support that?

I would use tour bike shocks with a leather Rallyrunner seat,
but here's the only 2 ways a passenger will be comfortable on a hardtail.

Personally... I dont know how much you love your wife, but if you have to say "do you think it'll hold her weight" as your cruising down the road at 60mph and hit a pothole.

Dude seriously, the fender brace was there from factory for a reason. Don't risk it.

I know there's tons of chops out there running a fender with no brace and a stick on pillion pad, but those fenders are wayyyy thicker than the flimsy stock crap.

Especially how your not running any shocks, it won't only be brutally uncomfortable the bumps are gonna have to be absorbed somewhere, that flimsy fender will probably soak em up.

I've been there done that, if you want a wife to ride with you... build a bike she'll be comfortable on.

I've tried those tiny pillion pads and unless shes 80lbs with an Asian ***... she won't be comfortable.

Or fab up something like this:

Just kidding, that looks like an absolute death trap.

If you're planning on just picking up a skank from the bar, go ahead.

if you cut your fender down and the bars that it mounts to then you should NOT ride with your wife till you buy or build a support brace that will attach to the fender and the side braces as well. Any fab shop should be able to make a bracket for you out of cold rolled steal. Just call around and make sure the part is good and sound before you pay for it!

nothing is worth you or your lady's life ya know.

I would make a support from swing arm like almost most rigid choppers are. you might have to raise the fender a little off the tire so you can put a support under there as well.

My buddy decided he didnt want a rear fender so he made a bracket that ran under the seat. Its welded on though.

Turns out the fender def won't support the weight. It flexes pretty bad. Gonna run by a local chopper shop one of these days when the weather is nice and see what they think...

This is very cool. If there could be a support bracket welded to the frame, you can technically switch between this and a solo seat.

You may have to go with a cafe racer style setup, but, I think you'll need the tail end of the frame to support the weight.
