Default Wheelie

O.K., Here's one for all of you "sports" out there. Is it physically possible to pull a Sporters' front wheel off the ground while the bike remains stationary? (ala Lone Ranger on Silver.) I've searched a number of sites and found a lot of amazing wheelie videos, but have never seen this demonstrated. Not that I would attempt this, understand, but I kinda recall hearing of this performed by "trials" riders in the past.

Looking forward to your responses.

Trials bikes dont weigh but around 190 pounds.

Mikeeee;

Have you ever pulled your trials bike (Ossa? Bultaco?) up with relatively little forward motion? Have you seen this performed by others?

Thanks,
RJS

Yes, and no. LOL

I dont believe that it can be done with NO fwd motion.
"Little" motion is possible.
Been years since I popped a wheelie.
Years.

Thanks, Mike;

Years ago I used to pull-up my Triumph Trophy, but never without forward motion. I don't think I'll try it with the 1200. (Unless I hear from other members that have accomplished this.. and live to tell the tale..)

Hey, 1200;

That was the very year that I bought that British Bomber! (Used.) The Brit's considered the 500cc's a dirt bike! None of the frills like electric starters; I can still remember limping at work every morning after spending a half hour trying to start it... especially if it was damp out.
