Default How low is too low on idle RPM's

Had my carb re-jetted a few weeks ago, at first it was idling around 13-1500 RPM's. Swung back by the dealership last Friday and now it idle's around 900 or a tad less. Is that too low? The service guy said he turned the screw about a 1/2 turn.

I think I read 1100 is good for keeping stator working and oil flow going well. Adjust it up a bit yourself, just need a screwdriver for the idle speed screw.

Make sure engine is fully up to operating temps and that the enrichener (carb models) is completely off.

Novice here, where would said screw be? I take it might be behind the air filter somewhere....

The idle screw is to the right and rear of the carb. It is behind the throttle cable

The MINIMUM recommended RPM for proper oil circulation at idle is 950.

Just look for where your throttle cables end, you'll see a screw w/ small coil spring around it somewhere facing you and when you twist the throttle, you will see where it rotates and comes back to idle. Turn the screw in for faster, out for slower, easy peasy.

Just warmed up the bike and set the screw. Just over 1000 RPM's at idle now. Thanks for the support. You'd think the service tech would have gotten it right after two attempts..........

The last time I screwed around with the idle screw was on my Malaguti scooter, not sure what I did however it ended up being trailered to the service guy. This was quite easy.

Spec is 950-1050 rpm. Unless you have some radical cams that can't idle, you have no reason to go above or below that spec.
