Exclamation HELP! How to get WATER SPOTS off the heads and primary...

Im pretty strict about not riding my Sportster in the rain, or if there is rain in the forecast. I just hate the cleanup after. That said, I got caught in a HUGE storm the other day about 30 miles from home. It sucked! No fenders + torrential downpour = FILTHY BIKE!

I put a lot of elbow grease into detailing it back to brand new, but I cannot for the life of me get the dirty water spots off the heads and primary. My 2012 Forty Eight has the black textured heads and primary and seems to be holding onto these dirty water spots. LOOKS HORRIBLE! I've tried soap and water, Mequire's Quick Detailer, and a toothbrush but the stains just won't budge.

Anyone have any tips for getting the heads and primary looking BRAND NEW again!?!?!?!?!

Yikes...I thought that black wrinkled finish would hold better than chrome. I see it's the other way around.

Gees was it acid rain? I have chrome, stainless, gloss and matte black paint, also wrinkle black and black abs plastic on my bike, all of which wipes off with little to no effort at all. and Its constantly outside

I spray mine with the black engine spray from HD for like $6 and the bike looks brand new. I'm out here in FL so it could rain in one spot and not in the other. When it says 20% chance that means bring your rain gear because its going to pour! Lol

Yep, that spray stuff that is made to keep the black looking black works well. I know the common word is that the matte and wrinkle finishes are all "utilitarian" and "all business" but I'm really glad all I have to do is wipe my chrome stuff with a rag to make it look like new. Much less hassle to maintain it appears.
