Default Installed jets on 96 883 and now leaks gas

The gas is coming out where the pin that gets pushed in by throttle goes into the carb bowl out of the rubber slinky thing. What did I do wrong?

The bowl is overfilling, the float valve is not seating properly or the float is mal-adjusted (possibly knocked when you changed the jets)

Guarantee your oil is now contaminated with gas ...ask me how I know.

EDIT: okay, I just re-read your post and it makes no sense... are you talking about the accelerator pump? (rubber slinky thing???) or the jet needle?

Whatever the problem, you disturbed something when changing jets. Carefully dismantle, as you did last time, and check everything else you touched. If you find any damaged parts, like the float needle or accelerator pump plunger, get a carb rebuild kit, strip, clean and rebuild.

Sorry I didnt get pictures yet, however I finally found the same problem with someone elses sportster. Its the accelerator push rod boot thats leaking gas. It appears that everyone suggests replacing the pump seals. I just can't understand how it was fine before jetting and now it leaks. Now maybe I did do something wrong, I did spray a little carb cleaner into where the rod goes. Its supposed to be o ring safe, is it possible that carb cleaner ruined the pump seal?

How would I know if the plunger is bad? also I left the carb hooked up on the bike and did not bump the float at all.

You disturbed the seal when you chnaged the jet. It is very common for this to happen. Just replace the seal

I am assuming the accelerator seal? where the 3 little brass screws are? I hear its simple to change.

I am new to harleys' so you'll have to forgive my noobiness. Never seen a accelerator pump before in jap bikes lol.
