V&H sideshots on Iron 883 help.

Goodmorning folks. After researching here and elsewhere I've found mixed results as to whether or not you need to re map after adding an exhaust. The more general consensus is that you can do exhaust or intake before the tune but not both. I have also heard with v&h or other full pipes you need a tune.
This is my first bike but I know how important back pressure was to my cars engine to keep it running properly and I was wondering how it'd work out on this application. Also if the quiet baffles would give it more back pressure?
Any input is appreciated.
Its a 2014 if that makes any difference.

You are correct. The general consensus is that if you just add pipes, then you do not need to remap. If you change the air cleaner, then you will need to add a tuner. You are going to benefit from a tuner no matter what as the bike runs very lean from the factory in stock form.
I have the sideshots with the quiet baffles. I believe the quiet baffles do give you a little more back pressure. These pipes also have a small chamber that connects the pipes. If you are looking for maximum performance, these pipes might not be for you. They do look and sound great though. You might check the V&H webside as I believe the O2 sensors changed in 2014 and am not sure if they have these pipes for your bike yet.

EDIT: son of a bitch! according to v&h they have no plans to make them for the 2014. Figures the pipes that I want they aren't going forward with.

They make the short shots for the 2014. Only change they talk about is the o2 going from a 18mm to a 12mm. Would that mean I can use the older pipes with a 12mm->18mm bung adapter?

I assume that's a problem whether I have abs or not? Because I don't. As far as a bracket goes how complex would it be to fab? because I have a full shop at my disposal. I'm dead set on sideshots.

i thought that all the 14 sportsers had ABS. they already have the short shots out for the 14s, i should be picking mine up next week when i get some free time. not sure about the sideshots for the 14 though
when i called V&H about the fitment of the short shots on the14s they told me they had to push the pipes out to clear the abs module, and redesign the bracket
