Default unbend this brake pedal?

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in opinions on whether or not I can bend the brake pedal in the attached image back into line, or if I should replace it? If bend, how would you go about doing it?

I appreciate any input!

Chris

It looks like you have forwards and installing a new one is easy. I would not try to bend that back, stopping is far more important than anything. That pedal is probably a cast piece, trying to re-bend could be dangerous, I think.

If it was a hard cast you should see fracturing in the bend. Either way either bending it will work or you will need a new one. Worth a try.

warm it up , bend it , after all it bent once without breaking.
and , and ..........wait for this ...

You still have the better brake ...".the front" ...in case it ever breaks off

Oh that bend is not bad at all. Take it apart and clamp it in a table vice. Heat it up and bend it. If it snaps just buy a new one.

Why take a chance, the manufacturer of that part and the alloy used are unknown, right ? It's an aluminum part and there are many aluminum alloys, some are ductile but many are not. (If it was steel then heating and bending would be recommended.) Buy a new one is my vote !

Intentionally break your ankle, your right ankle, and then have your foot reset aiming left.
